Strange, queer and peculiar things fascinate me, because they mix well-known things with events or things beyond understanding. Queer things, (even trash, for example) for me they are peculiar and precious. I love the beauty of stones. For me the quality of a stone does not depend on its technical or market value. A ruby is not more precious because it has this or that colour. “Wrong “ colours or “bad” cuts often are more beautiful. Imperfection sometimes is very amiable. In my look on the world I’m searching for the exotic in every day life, the common ground, the essential parts. As Max Beckmann, a painter whom I admire very much, puts it : “To make the invisible visible through reality.- That might sound paradoxical, but it’s really reality that forms the Mystery of life”.
