Elle a ainsi travaille\u0301 avec le pianiste franc\u0327ais Franc\u0327ois Couturier, la pianiste suisse Sylvie Courvoisier, le pianiste ukrainien Misha Alperin, le pianiste grec Vassilis Tsabropoulos (un album en 2000 \u00ab Chants, Hymnes et Danses \u00bb consacre\u0301 a\u0300 la musique du compositeur-philosophe Gurdjieff en te\u0302te des ventes classiques aux Etats- Unis), la violoncelliste Agne\u0300s Vesterman, la violoniste Patricia Kopatchinskaja, le clarinettiste Reto Bieri ou le guitariste Pablo Ma\u0301rquez ….
\nUne importante collaboration s’est noue\u0301e avec le joueur de bandone\u0301on argentin Dino SALUZZI, tout d’abord avec le quatuor Rosamunde, puis en duo. Lechner a entendu Saluzzi pour la premie\u0300re fois au de\u0301but des anne\u0301es 1980 a\u0300 Munich, et a trouve\u0301 que \u00ab sa musique ne ressemblait en rien a\u0300 ce qu’elle connaissait et e\u0301tait pourtant familie\u0300re \u00bb. Son travail dans ce cadre consiste essentiellement a\u0300 inte\u0301grer la culture de son partenaire, de\u0301velopper des techniques d’improvisation adapte\u0301es, et apporter sa propre culture classique.

\nAnja Lechner performs as soloist with leading orchestras, as a chamber musician, and as creative participant in diverse projects between the genres. Composers who have written music for her range from Tigran Mansurian and Valentin Silvestrov to Dino Saluzzi. The scope of Lechner\u2019s musical interests is reflected in a rich discography, with more than twenty albums to date on ECM New Series, the newest featuring music of To\u0303nu Ko\u0303rvits, whose compositions she has premiered with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under To\u0303nu Kaljuste. Other recent releases include Quasi Parlando, music of Tigran Mansurian, with Patricia Kopatchinskaja and the Amsterdam Sinfionietta, and Moderato Cantabile, featuring Lechner\u2019s duo with Francois Couturier playing music of Gurdjieff, Komitas and Mompou. Lechner and Couturier also collaborate in the Tarkovsky Quartet, whose third ECM album is in preparation. Lechner\u2019s ongoing projects include a duo with bandoneonist Dino Saluzzi, as well as duos with guitarist Pablo Marquez and with fellow cellist Agne\u0300s Vesterman. In recent seasons Anja Lechner has also emphasized solo cello concerts, playing old and new music, from Bach to Berio, and improvising.
\nAnja Lechner was born in Kassel, Germany, and studied with Heinrich Schiff and Ja\u0301nos Starker. For 18 years, until its disbanding in 2009, she was cellist of the Rosamunde Quartet.<\/p>\n
