\nMy work reflects what is around me and in my life, this is not always immediatly obvious to the viewer as I express this in blocs of colour and pattern. I use glass at times to express this, as I love the way I am able to work in solid blocs of rich and varied colour. And at other times I use enamel on the metal to create a more immediate and graphic expression of my ideas. In recent times I have drawn a lot from incidents in my life and my work has become somewhat more narrative, but at the same time pared right back to simplified forms and colours that have developed into I hope slightly playful pieces. I work instinctively and draw a lot. I have spent 31 years working with enamel and later glass, I move from one to the other as it suits my work and form of expression. In enamelling I lay different layers of glass on to the metal next to a drawn metal edge that gives me the freedom to combine the different surface effects and colours to express my ideas. With glass I use solid coloured forms combined with silver structures to achieve a more 3 dimensional effect. I also cast larger glass objects and lights. I find the change of scale refreshing and at times technically chalenging.<\/p>\n
\nMon travail refl\u00e8te ce qui m\u2019habite et m\u2019entoure, notions pas toujours imm\u00e9diatement \u00e9videntes pour le spectateur car c\u2019est par des blocs de couleur, des motifs, que je m\u2019exprime.J’utilise le verre- j’aime travailler ces solides blocs de couleurs riches et vari\u00e9es -l\u2019\u00e9mail sur m\u00e9tal pour transcrire imm\u00e9diatement graphiquement mes id\u00e9es. Ces derniers temps, \u00e0 la suite d’incidents dans ma vie, mon travail est devenu plus narratif, et en m\u00eame temps je simplifie les formes et apporte, par les couleurs un cot\u00e9 ludique \u00e0 mon travail. J\u2019agis instinctivement et dessine beaucoup. J’ai pass\u00e9 31 ans \u00e0 travailler l’\u00e9mail et plus tard le verre. Je passe de l’un \u00e0 l’autre selon ce qui convient \u00e0 la pi\u00e8ce que je cr\u00e9e. Avec l\u2019\u00e9mail, je superpose diff\u00e9rentes couches de verre sur le m\u00e9tal \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d’un bord en m\u00e9tal dessin\u00e9 ce qui me donne la libert\u00e9 de combiner les diff\u00e9rents effets de surface et de couleurs. Avec le verre j’utilise des formes color\u00e9es solides combin\u00e9es \u00e0 des structures d’argent pour obtenir un effet tridimensionnel J’ai aussi coul\u00e9 des objets de verre de plus grande taille. Je trouve le changement d’\u00e9chelle stimulant et c\u2019est souvent un challenge technique.<\/p>\n
