Li-Chin Li, n\u00e9e en 1988 \u00e0 Ta\u00efwan, est une soliste de sheng, compositrice et interpr\u00e8te qui travaille entre Ta\u00efwan et l’Europe. Elle a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 la musique chinoise \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 nationale des arts de Tainan, o\u00f9 elle a approfondi son exploration des pratiques traditionnelles et contemporaines. Apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu son dipl\u00f4me, elle a rejoint le prestigieux Orchestre chinois de Hong Kong en tant qu’interpr\u00e8te de sheng. Elle s’est ensuite orient\u00e9e vers une pratique artistique ind\u00e9pendante afin de suivre sa propre voie cr\u00e9ative.
\nS’appuyant sur son exp\u00e9rience d’artiste ind\u00e9pendante, elle a, ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, \u00e9largi son approche musicale \u00e0 des domaines multisensoriels et imaginatifs. Ses performances transportent le public dans des dimensions inconnues, fa\u00e7onn\u00e9es par des textures sonores et une perception cr\u00e9ative. R\u00e9put\u00e9e pour son int\u00e9gration du sheng dans divers formats artistiques, elle collabore fr\u00e9quemment avec des artistes interdisciplinaires et des compositeurs contemporains de France, des \u00c9tats-Unis, de Ta\u00efwan et d\u2019ailleurs. Son travail explore \u00e9galement la subjectivit\u00e9 de l\u2019interpr\u00e8te et les r\u00f4les multiples que les musiciens peuvent incarner dans la performance contemporaine.<\/p>\n

Li-Chin s’est produite avec des ensembles et des orchestres tels que Cairn (Paris), LINEA (Strasbourg), l’Orchestre de chambre de Laponie (Finlande), le Trickster Orchestra (Berlin) et l’Orchestre national chinois de Ta\u00efwan. Elle participe au projet de recherche et de cr\u00e9ation \u00e0 long terme \u00ab sheng! l\u2019orgue \u00e0 bouche \u00bb (2019\u20132026), organis\u00e9 par le TPMC et soutenu par la DRAC \u00cele-de-France, l\u2019IReMus (CNRS \u2013 Sorbonne Universit\u00e9), le minist\u00e8re fran\u00e7ais de la Culture \u2013 BnF et le MMC. Dans le cadre de cette initiative, Li-Chin est \u00e9galement co-directrice de SoMax2, une collaboration artistique et scientifique organis\u00e9e par l\u2019IRCAM (Institut de recherche et de coordination en acoustique\/musique, Paris), aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Mikhail Malt et Lin-Ni Liao. \nLi-Chin Li, born 1988, Taiwan, is a Sheng soloist, composer, and performer working between Taiwan and Europe. She studied Chinese music at the Tainan National University of the Arts, where she deepened her exploration of traditional and contemporary practices. After graduating, she joined the prestigious Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra as a Sheng performer. She later transitioned into an independent artistic practice in pursuit of her own creative path.
\nDrawing from her experience as an independent artist, she has in recent years expanded her musical approach into multisensory and imaginative realms. Her performances transport audiences into unfamiliar dimensions shaped by sonic textures and creative perception. Renowned for integrating the Sheng across diverse artistic formats, she frequently collaborates with interdisciplinary artists and contemporary composers from France, the United States, Taiwan, and beyond. Her work also examines the performer\u2019s subjectivity and the multifaceted roles musicians can embody within contemporary performance.
\nLi-Chin has performed with ensembles and orchestras such as Cairn (Paris), LINEA (Strasbourg), the Lapland Chamber Orchestra (Finland), Trickster Orchestra (Berlin), and the National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan. She has been selected for numerous artistic residencies in experimental and contemporary music, including Royaumont, IRCAM, Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts (Paris), Centre National de la Danse (Pantin), La Symphonie de S\u00e9gri\u00e8s, the Asian Cultural Council (New York), Avaloch Farm Music Institute (U.S.), and Elektronmusikstudion, EMS (Swedish Centre for Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art, Stockholm).
\nShe is engaged in the long-term research and creation project \u201csheng! l\u2019orgue \u00e0 bouche\u201d (2019\u20132026), organized by TPMC and supported by DRAC \u00cele-de-France, IReMus (CNRS \u2013 Sorbonne Universit\u00e9), the French Ministry of Culture \u2013 BnF, and MMC. In connection with this initiative, Li-Chin also serves as co-leader of SoMax2, an artistic and scientific collaboration organized by IRCAM (Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics\/Music, Paris), alongside Mikhail Malt and Lin-Ni Liao. Centered on the Sheng, the project explores new musical languages through research in acoustics and organology.<\/p>\n
