In front of certain objects, paintings… we enthusiastically exclaim: “It’s a museum piece!” The criteria for this selection? The answer we get from curators and museum directors is: “There are no criteria!” Every work of art can, at some point in its life, join a collection and enter a museum.

“A day at the museum”

1 photographer
Gérard Uféras

In this project, Gérard Uféras acts as artist, anthropologist and sociologist.
He observes, records and analyzes what we see with subtlety and humor. The study conducted by Gérard Uféras is much more than an intelligent and witty account of visitors to a wide variety of museums, it offers each of us the opportunity to see ourselves in a single view and refléchir on our own relationship to art.
Produced since 2016, in Paris in most of its museums but also in New York, Moscow, London, Berlin, Brussels, Milan, Florence, Athens, Tel Aviv, Berne, Washington, … this work is a “work in progress”.
